    Are you happy?

    If not, a lot of times, unhappiness is due to selfishness. To be honest, we live in a selfish world.
    I think one of the devil's biggest lies is keeping us in denial; trying to have us think that if we admit our flaws, we're a bad person. So we keep them buried inside.

    It should be the opposite.

    When making gold , they have to heat it up so that all of the impurities rise to the top - then wiped away and lifted out. That's what God does (and wants to do) with us. We go through situations or circumstances (a lot that don't seem fair) so that we can see how we react. We see what's truly inside of us and what surfaces once we get "heated up." We then have a choice: Are we going to admit that feeling is in us to get rid of it? OR are we going to feel ashamed to feel that way, and bury the feeling back down?

    If you go through something and jealousy, pride, anger etc. comes out of you, I encourage you to be honest with yourself. (Come on, God knows your heart and what's inside of you anyway).

    Admit it: "I feel like this, I don't want to, so get it out of me Lord." 

    Then, we can truly grow and change. I heard another thing recently that helped me. 

    Do you have a list of things you think you NEED to make you happy?

    For example...

    "I'll be happy when I'm rich."

    "I'll be happy once I have that new job."

    "I'll be happy once I lose weight or gain weight."  

    Do you think "I'll be happy when I stop complaining."

    Don't be so hard on yourself.

    God made you and loves you perfectly through every imperfection.

    Just give yourself to Him and He'll change you.
    Stop praying for what YOU think you NEED, and start asking God for HIS WILL in your life.

    When you're holding onto something, your hand is closed; not open to receive what God has for you. Trust me... what He has for you is way better than something you could ever ask for.

    Deeeeeelicious Protein Banana Bread

    Howdy friends! I LOVE banana bread, and so does my husband.

    My mother in law is an amazing cook and my father in law is a chef. So, of course, when they come to our home in Dallas, or we go home to Detroit, we always get the best food. Well, I can eat the "real cookin" lol for a few days, but lets be honest, I cant eat regular banana bread all of the time and keep my girlish figure ;)

    When Momma Kuc stays for a few days I swear she makes loaves and loaves of amazing banana bread....any many other things.  Pair that with the fact that my Husband loves to buy bananas in bulk from Costco and I always have room for banana bread. 

    So, I realized that I need to take my mother in laws banana bread recipe ad as they say on 'In the Kitchen with David' on QVC, make...smart swaps. So, here it is.

    • 3 Ripe bananas mashed
    • 1/3 cup melted butter(you can also sub coconut oil, i haven't done that ye, but I actually keep the butter here. Butter, real butter is actually good for you. Of course watching calories etc. But make sure its grass fed organic butter. This has way more CLA. 
    • 1 whole egg (whisked) 
    • 1/2 cup baking stevia in the raw
    • 1 tsp vanilla ( i omit because i'm sensitive to vanilla) 
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • pinch of salt
    • 1 1/2 cups Kodiak cakes high protein pancake/waffle mix

    **I had to come up with a smart swap for white flour so this is perfect. Its also what makes it high protein. To traditionally add protein you would add whey protein to the ingredients, but this sometimes results in a drier texture. I'm sure you can sub oat flour as well, but again, your not going to have a high protein bread. Its worth it. 


    Mash bananas and then mix all of the ingredients with a fork in a large bowl. Bake for 30 min at 350 degrees in a loaf pan coated with coconut oil and your done. Its simple, its amazing and I cant wait for you to try it! Let me know how it goes. Love y'all.
